IBS 2025 Show Home Accelerates Into the Final Phases of Construction
The pace of construction has moved into high gear for , the official exhibit home of the upcoming . According to superintendent Mark Schlachter of Sun West Custom Homes, the project has anywhere between 30-50 workers onsite each day.
The 2025 show home is expected to raise the bar yet again for energy efficiency. Its high-performance ratings will largely stem from the build team’s multi-phase approach to air tightness using only the latest products and techniques.
Schlachter is especially fond of the ease of use and efficiency results he sees from several key insulation products including Henry Blueskin VP 100, Carlisle spray foam and Fi-Foil VR Plus Shield reflective insulation.
Together with an array of energy-efficient appliances and a solar package, the products are expected to help the home achieve numerous certifications including: National Green Building Standard “Emerald” status, ENERGY STAR, Indoor airPLUS, and the Department of Energy’s Zero Energy Ready Home.
Beyond performance, the New American Home is held to the highest standards for design. Several unique features have been added to the 2025 home that will catch the eye of industry pros and consumers alike.
“I’m really excited about this house because it’s a two-story, there’s an elevator inside, and you’ve got a see-through glass floor looking down into the wine room,” Schlachter said. “There’s going to be so much ‘wow’ factor here [and] I’m excited to see peoples’ reaction to it.”
The home remains on pace for completion in October. It will be officially unveiled to the public at IBS 2025. Show attendees will be able to tour the home Feb. 25-27.
