Types of Education at IBS

IBS attendees have the opportunity to attend any of more than 120 education sessions during the show. The variety of formal classes and informal learning opportunities offer attendees new ideas, information, tips and techniques they can implement into their business immediately.

What's on the IBS Exhibit Floor?

In addition to its numerous education sessions, IBS is the nation’s largest annual residential construction exhibition for manufacturers and suppliers of home building products and services. The exhibit floor at IBS — which spanned more than 700,000 square feet during the 2025 show — provides an expansive environment where attendees can see and learn about cutting-edge products from more than 1,800 exhibitors.

Since 2014, IBS has co-located with the National Kitchen & Bath Association’s Kitchen & Bath Industry Show® (KBIS), creating a mega-event called Design and Construction Week® (DCW). All registered IBS attendees have access to the exhibit floors of both shows. Together, the shows consistently draw a growing number of attendees and exhibitors; in 2025, total attendance of DCW surpassed 130,000.

Each edition is designed to inspire building professionals by pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in custom home building, blending architectural excellence with real-world performance standards.

The show home consistently meets or exceeds rigorous energy-efficiency and performance benchmarks. Notably, The New American Home 2025 achieved a record-breaking -54 HERS Index rating, setting a new benchmark for the program. The home also earned certifications from ENERGY STAR, Indoor airPLUS, and the Department of Energy’s Zero Energy Ready Home Program, underscoring its commitment to sustainability and innovation.
